So I know I promised that this blog wouldn't be depressing, but I have to bitch to someone about the way my day is going! Why not complain to not humans necessarily, but airwaves? There are no rules. One of the Brokers I am working for told me that all things, good or bad, come in 3s. So far today - and it is only 2:45 - that's true. Read on for more info...
First "THING"...
I woke up at about 6:30, took a shower, was in a great mood, didn't feel too tired at all. Then I got ready, talked to Jason (Christina's boyfriend), and took off. As I'm about to get into my car I noticed there was some leftover paper coffee cups from Coffee Bean so I walked over to the dumpster to throw it away. From there, it gets hazy. A simple moment of being a good citizen and throwing my shit out was turned into a violently unintentional self-mutilating experience. I can't really tell you how it happened exactly, but the smaller trash bin starts sliding down this little drop towards the garage gate. I go to grab it and...it pulls me down with it. I don't even fall, just lose my balance a little, scrap my knee on the pavement and completely cut my knee open. My nilons are ripped to shreds, I'm sitting on the ground between two dumpsters and I'm bleeding. Right. Since I was already running a bit late, I just decided to let my open wound fester on my leg as I drive to work.
Second "THING"...
Not even five minutes after "Thing 1" I am about to turn right to get onto the 405 Freeway. I didn't even notice, nor care about the sign that says "No Turn On Red Between 7am-9am." Sure enough, two cops are sitting on their motorcycles with their hands up signaling for me to stop and pull over. F M L - Fuck My Life. As if I'm used to shitty things happening in a series, I casually roll down my window and start chit chatting with the cop as if my day is going great. I hand over my license, search for about 5 minutes for my insurance, and fail to provide her with my registration card. So she gives me a ticket for violating a road sign and tells me to go to traffic school and it will be like "this never happened." Ha. I wish this day never happened.
Since THING 1 & THING 2, occured...my day has been hectic. THINGS 1 & 2 caused me to be late for work, which wasn't the big deal. The issue was that the President of the company was having a networking meeting with all of the other cool President's of other large companies in the conference room, and my one responsibility was to provide the coffee. I get there late, Bill (Mr. Prez) is freaking out because we have no coffee. So I ran around the corner to buy some unground coffee from Coffee Bean, come back to the office, proceed to make 24 cups of coffee and when I finally am able to sit down and clean up my wound which is still untreated and dirty, the phones start ringing off the hook. An hour later I go into the bathroom to clean up my wound. I can feel the infection taking over my knee.
Third "THING"...
At lunch I decide to take a little trip to Gelson's The "Super" Market..."Super," get it? Wow. After my lunch, which wasn't that fantastic, I start walking back to the office. I am having a hard time seeing and then realize that I probably don't have my glasses on (when you are dependant on your glasses, you start to not have the ability to tell whether or not you are wearing them). I pull them out, have them in my hand for all of 2 minutes, and suddenly I hear a noise below me. The left "wing" of my favorite, treasured, adored Versace glasses with Swarovski crystals, is laying on the ground. Yea.
And here we are. 3:00 pm. I know if I don't start thinking positively in about 5 minutes, the universe will bitch slap me with other random bad shit. So I'm stopping. Bye.
